Where We’ve Been

Our Founder, George R. Moskoff, is a former scientist.  His approach to the work of organizational change is to first study and, then, to act through experimentation.  After stints in biotechnology and telecommunications, Moskoff launched his consulting practice in 1983.  Soon thereafter, he was recruited to help turn around “The National Runaway Switchboard,” a national resource located in downtown Chicago, Illinois.  Thus began his indoctrination into the Non-Profit field.

Minerva Project’s Consultants are, mostly, steeped in the for-profit world and, as such, bring new perspectives to Non-Profits.  Our Consultants have chosen to band together — not to compete — in an effort to make a larger impact.

Our work has focused on helping our clients with: Assessing Outcomes; Realtime Straegy Development; Board Development; Web Design; Information Technology; Capacity Building.  We have succeeded, to some degree, because our model is egalitarian and flat (not hierarchical).  We believe our clients are partners in the change process.

Founder Moskoff has demonstrated this philosophical approach: in 1993, Moskoff assumed control — as Managing Director — of a troubled non-profit Montessori School in Geneva, Illinois.  Given a chance to apply his considerable skills and leadership theories, Moskoff was successful, along with the Board and Faculty, in helping to resurrect a dying school.  The renewed vibrancy was accompanied by a participative, democratic organization where, for example, teachers were given the power to make decisions about their own programs.  And, parents were educated — along with their children.

Some of Moskoff's Clients

Moskoff, with a storied career demonstrating entrepreneurship and innovation in both the Non-Profit and For-Profit sectors, has been able to recruit Consultants with similar expertise.  In the process, they are able to bring new thinking to their Non-Profit clients.
